Who we’re looking for
April Six is looking for a Resource Manager to enable our internal creative and media teams to produce award-winning work for our clients. From integrated global campaigns to large-scale website overhauls, April Six has a skilled set of creative marketers who will benefit from a Resource Manager who can help drive the processes to develop quality work from start to finish. April Six is looking for a self-starter with experience managing people, processes, and project in a creative agency environment.
The Resource Manager will work closely with the Creative Directors, Account Directors, and the Director of Business Operations to lead and coordinate the day-to-day creative efforts and ensure that internal processes are functioning efficiently, and work is going through the agency in an effective and profitable way. This role is expected to oversee and maintain relationships with several external resources including external creative agencies and contractors. They will be responsible for driving communication between multiple stakeholders: account teams, finance, media, HR/recruiting and creative; and for ensuring successful creative results that exceed client expectations and meet business goals. They will support the creative process in a fast-paced production environment that is always evolving to increase efficiency, quality and speed to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily, weekly and monthly resources for Creative, Production, Digital, UX, Strategy, Media departments based on the evolution of the agency and the business
- Lead daily and weekly resource meetings with Account, Creative and Media teams
- Monitor day-to-day project activities, tracking changes and identifying potential instances of under-utilization; proactively solving challenges
- Understand team dynamics; participate in continual efforts to improve agency processes and increase productivity; coming up with ideas, processes and tools to help April Six run more smoothly
- Maintain and maximize use of an integrated project tracking system
- Attract, engage, and maintain relationships with freelance talent
- Develop a set of freelance talent that aligns with key agency offerings
- Partner with Director of Business Operations, Managing Director, and other agency leadership to derive and evaluate the data of project profitability, efficiency and pipeline on a quarterly basis
- Become well-versed in each team member’s strength, experience and passion so as to best match team members with active projects
- Work with department leadership to audit, recommend and improve processes where possible
- Serve as resourcing process lead for all new employees, ensuring the all team members have proper training and understanding of the agency process
- Create a positive environment daily where creativity can flourish
- Become an active, positive member of the agency team through non-client related special projects, initiatives, and activities
Experience, Skills, Qualifications
- Experience in agency project and/or creative resource management
- Proficiency in Asana, Workamajig or other project management platforms preferred
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Patient and positive attitude
- Ability to handle multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities in stride and with a high attention to detail
- Ability to plan ahead – regularly review, forecast and reforecast your project resource needs
- Ability to navigate high-pressure situations, identify problems and solutions, escalating to appropriate team members as needed
- Excellent verbal and written skills – communication and diplomacy skills are key
- Understanding of common file types, specs and vendor needs to be able to create great work
- Strong Excel skills to update monthly/quarterly reporting and ad hoc reporting as needed and derive value from data.
