Creating A Change Movement Through Structured Collaboration
The National Oceanography Centre (NOC), the UK’s leading marine science research and technology institution, tasked April Six with delivering a full-day event designed to inform the development of an Information Management Framework (IMF) for creating environmental digital twins. The event provided a useful exchange and networking opportunity ahead of the UK-hosted International Digital Twins of the Ocean Summit.
Development of an IMF requires bringing together a diverse group of senior-level stakeholders, including chief scientific advisors, senior officials, and leading expert research organizations. Ensuring a representative attendance and high-value contribution required a clear set of objectives, themes, and structure for the course of the day.
1. Initial sessions with the client to settle the event scope. The day comprised two distinct roundtables, each requiring distinct themes, stakeholder outreach, event materials, and invitations.
2. April Six worked with the client to develop the process for approaches and invitations – to ensure balanced representation and approaches, targets were invited in a staged approach to facilitate a balanced discussion.
3. Event management and materials – April Six handled all aspects of event delivery, including registration, venue, cost management, lunch & refreshments, and AV requirements. We joined the roundtables and delivered the final report, based on the discussion output.
April Six delivered the policy roundtable and secured participation from over 25 senior stakeholders over morning and afternoon sessions. The discussion yielded valuable insights, forged a new network of interest parties, and provided substantive recommendations on the way forward.
The success of the event was measured by the positive survey feedback received from the stakeholders. The policy roundtable provided a platform for stakeholders to share their knowledge and expertise, and for April Six to demonstrate its ability to execute a successful event that met the client’s objectives.
