About the role
We’re currently recruiting for an Account Manager (Marketing) to join our Science, Engineering and Innovation team, which works with some of the brightest people and organisations on the planet. Every day we handle subjects as diverse as fundamental science, space, health, energy, artificial intelligence, smart cities and many more.
We’re looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm and passion for the work we do here, so we’ll want to hear why working in science and engineering is exciting to you. Prior experience in this space is beneficial but not essential, as long as a keen interest is there.
As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll play a crucial role in managing the delivery of high quality marketing campaigns for our client base. This means being the central linchpin who can seamlessly coordinate multiple teams (both internal and external) to keep campaigns on track and to the highest quality, and making sure the client is kept informed every step of the way.
As well as excellent project management skills and a good understanding of marketing principles, it would also be beneficial if you are able to deliver on a tactical level. We’re very open to what skills you might offer on this front, so whether you’re a social media wizard, SEO specialist, or a brilliant copywriter, we’d love to hear from you.
Our work is extremely varied and offers an array of opportunities to broaden your communications experience while working on fascinating subjects that genuinely do good in the world.

- Establishing and managing appropriate campaign timelines, with responsibility for ensuring all deadlines are properly communicated and adhered to (on both client and agency side), and proactively finding solutions for any timing challenges
- Becoming an internal champion for client brand and messaging in order to support the wider team to deliver work that perfectly aligns with our clients’ expectations
- Becoming a trusted day-to-day contact for clients on marketing campaigns, managing approvals and leading parts of progress calls and meetings
- Management and mentoring of junior members of staff within account teams
- Ensuring clients are up-to-date on the progress of activities through structured workplans and reports
- Researching and contributing ideas to keep our campaigns at the leading-edge of industry creativity and best practice
- Working with Account Directors and Strategy team to develop an appropriate measurement model that enables optimal evaluation of campaign success. Leading on the capture, analysis and reporting of campaign measurement data, and proposing opportunities for campaign optimisation
- Managing suppliers, including media agencies and publishing networks. Delivering clear briefs to suppliers, managing their deadlines and ensuring the quality of results.
- Proofreading of campaign assets, as part of your responsibility for maintaining our rigorous quality control processes
- Planning and delivering marketing campaigns on behalf of the Science, Engineering & Innovation division, working closely with key stakeholders including the Divisional Director and Business Development Director
- Supporting new business pitches, including research, brainstorming and presenting to prospective clients
Depending on your individual skills and experience, your responsibilities may also include:
- Social media planning, content development and implementation (organic and paid)
- Event management and planning
- Long and short-form copywriting for a variety of platforms (note this would often on complex subjects within the science, engineering & innovation sectors)
- Sharing and applying specialist knowledge in SEO, PPC, digital analytics or other area(s) relevant to digital marketing
Experience and characteristics required:
- Solid experience working in a similar marketing project management role (not necessarily within an agency)
- Excellent project planning skills and the confidence to communicate with and manage senior members of staff (both internally and client-side)
- The ability to anticipate potential barriers to success and proactively identify solutions to overcome them
- Fluency in capturing and analysing campaign performance metrics
